D. Brent Laytham is professor of theology and dean of the Ecumenical Institute of Theology at St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland. He came to St. Mary’s having taught and served a number of administrative roles at North Park Theological Seminary from 2001 to 2012. An Elder in the United Methodist Church, North Carolina Conference, Laytham is active in the Society of Christian Ethics and the Society of Biblical Literature and is a Fellow of the Wabash Center for Teaching and Learning. He has written iPod, YouTube, Wii Play: Theological Engagements with Entertainment (Cascade, 2012) and has edited and published chapters in God is Not (Brazos, 2004) and God Does Not (Brazos, 2009). Laytham earned his PhD in theology and ethics from Duke University Graduate School and his MDiv from Nazarene Theological Seminary.
