David L. Tiede served as a professor of New Testament—principally at Luther Seminary and with briefer appointments at Scripps College, Claremont Graduate School, and Yale University Divinity School—teaching and publishing in the area of Luke-Acts and Christian origins. He served as Luther Seminary’s president for 18 years, and then accepted the Christensen Chair at Augsburg College. In addition, he held interim presidencies at Wartburg Seminary and Luther College. He has been active in The Association of Theological Schools with In Trust Center for Theological Schools and Auburn. Tiede has consulted with numerous theological schools, particularly in strengthening their governance during new presidencies.
