More than thirty deans and chief academic officers share their wisdom on a variety of topics related to academic leadership in theological schools (Eerdmans, 2011).
Seminary deans and other senior academic leaders enhance their abilities to manage from the middle, navigating between the president and the faculty, through participation in the Chief Academic Officers Society (CAOS). Annual conferences, webinars, a listserv (exclusively for chief academic officers of ATS member schools), and other resources focus on issues of academic administration, curriculum, academic leadership, teaching and learning, personnel, and educational evaluation. In addition, opportunities for peer interaction enhance this community of practice.
