In the midst of unprecedented enrollment declines in higher education and a gradual decline in theological school enrollments that began in 2007, the latest figures from The Association of Theological Schools reveal six positive trends.
The Association of Theological Schools (ATS) provides a collective voice to the more than 270 graduate schools of theology that make up its membership. Through its innovative programming, the Association provides leadership development and networking opportunities to the administrators and faculty of member schools. The related Commission on Accrediting (COA) affords a system of accountability through peer evaluations in the accreditation process.
The ATS communications department works with reporters and editors from regional and national publications to share data and insights about theological education and the Association’s member schools. Periodic news releases highlight key trends among theological schools and provide a context for reporting on more in-depth stories about individual schools and faith communities.
