Affiliates

Organizations holding affiliate status with The Association of Theological Schools (ATS) are not members of the Association. They are organizations with a substantial interest in theological education but not involved in educational programs leading to a degree, or they are schools offering graduate theological degrees and related to identifiable communities of faith other than the Christian and Jewish faiths. Upon initial application and subsequent recommendation by the ATS Board of Directors, ATS affiliates are elected by a two-thirds vote of the members present and voting at a meeting of the Association. Affiliate status carries eligibility for appointment to committees and voice, but no vote in Association meetings. ATS affiliates pay annual dues as prescribed by the Association.

Affiliate status is not a membership category of ATS nor is it a pathway to membership. Schools wishing to become members of ATS can learn more about the membership process here.

Affiliate applications are accepted only in even-numbered years and are voted on at the ATS/COA Biennial Meeting. The application period for 2026 closed on March 15. The next application cycle will open in fall 2026 and will remain open until March 15, 2028.

Faith Jackson joined ATS as its first director of strategic communications in 2025. She leads the communications team in developing, managing, and executing strategies that amplify the value of the Association’s work and its roles for member institutions. She also oversees the creation and maintenance of a robust communications framework, fostering cross-departmental collaboration and strengthening connections within the ATS community.

Jackson most recently served as managing director, marketing and enrollment for Noodle—an edtech strategy and services company. Prior to that, she held the positions of associate vice president of marketing and communications and senior director of enrollment marketing and brand strategy at New Jersey City University, director of communications at Drew University, and assistant director—editorial at Rutgers University.

Jackson holds a master’s degree in communication and information from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
