OPEN POSITION: Associate Director of Initiatives 

 

The Association of Theological Schools (ATS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Associate Director of Initiatives.

Associate Director of Initiatives 

 

Location: Remote, based in the US or Canada, with periodic travel to Pittsburgh, PA and other locations when called for meetings and events.

 

About the Role: Reporting to the Director of Initiatives, the Associate Director will play a pivotal role in curating and leading the virtual learning infrastructure for the Pathways for Tomorrow Coordination program. This includes managing communications with grantees, overseeing reporting processes in collaboration with the Lilly Endowment, and evaluating the impact of initiatives through data tracking and analysis.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Manage grants, including proposal development, data collection, and reporting

 

- Lead virtual learning communities

 

- Develop and facilitate virtual programming for grantees

 

- Collaborate on evaluation plans and analyze grantee reports

 

- Create and administer a learning community for the Pathways grantees

 

- Administer evaluation processes to assess program effectiveness

 

What You Bring:

 

- Master’s degree or higher with 5–7 years of experience in theological education, organizational leadership or related field—or equivalent experience

 

- Proven experience in adult virtual learning and/or grant-funded project coordination

 

- Experience in seminary settings or with theological education, either through professional roles or an academic degree

 

- Exceptional organizational, administrative, and communication skills

 

- Strong analytical, management, and interpersonal abilities

 

- Opennes to the diverse expressions of faith at ATS member schools

 

Work Environment: This is a remote position with required travel to Pittsburgh and other locations for meetings and events. Travel within the United States and Canada to conference and large gatherings of grantees is required.
