Development and Institutional Advancement Program

The Development and Institutional Advancement Program (DIAP) is a Community of Practice for all those leading and working at ATS member schools in the various aspects of institutional advancement, development, and communications.

One of the oldest ATS Communities of Practice, DIAP convened its inaugural meeting in the fall of 1982, with the goal of providing specialized educational and professional support for development officers working to meet the institutional advancement needs of theological schools. Since then, in addition to an annual conference, DIAP programming has expanded to include a variety of elements and opportunities, including webinars, virtual events, and resource sharing through the Engage ATS discussion forum, to help its members develop professional networks, share best practices, and build skills for effective service in their diverse contexts.

DIAP programming is overseen by a steering committee comprised of individuals working at ATS member schools, who lend their perspective and experience to help the ATS staff design leadership development events and activities that effectively serve the DIAP community.
