Leah Wright promoted to accrediting records manager
The Association of Theological Schools (ATS) is pleased to announce that Leah K. Wright has been promoted to accrediting records manager, effective July 2026. Her responsibilities include
managing the official records of the ATS Commission on Accrediting (COA), and processing reports, petitions, and other COA-required documents. She also supports the work of the ATS Board of
Commissioners and the Association's accrediting functions.
Wright's promotion reflects her mounting contributions and demonstrated expertise since joining ATS 12 years ago.
She was hired in 2014 as coordinator of faculty development and initiatives. In that role, she oversaw conference and event activities for faculty and administrators while also supporting a
variety of research and educational initiatives. In 2022, she transitioned to the role of accrediting records coordinator, where she gained extensive knowledge of COA records, policies, and
procedures. This work laid the foundation for her expanded leadership responsibilities.
As accrediting records manager, Wright plays a key role in maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of COA’s work. She oversees critical records and documentation processes that
support accreditation decision making, helping to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance across COA’s activities. Her skillset and institutional knowledge contribute to the
quality of service for member schools and strengthens the organization’s ongoing commitment to educational excellence.
"Leah displays exceptional skill and professionalism in all that she does and consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic," said Barbara Mutch, senior director of accreditation. "Over the
past several years, she has expanded her capacity for analysis, strategic thinking, and organization while becoming a trusted expert in Commission records and accrediting processes. We are
proud of and grateful for all she brings to the work of accrediting. We are delighted to recognize her efforts with this promotion."
A graduate of Mercyhurst University, Wright earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in hotel, restaurant, and institutional management. Her commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and
dedication continue to strengthen the mission and service of the ATS Commission on Accrediting.
