Project Information

  • Initiative: Individual School Grant (ISG)
  • Project Title: Revitalizing Pastoral Formation in the Canadian Pacific Region
  • Project Description: The grant will assist in the transition of the multi-denominational consortium, known as ACTS, to a School of Theology at Trinity Western University. This transition will enhance operational sustainability and improve administrative efficiency. We will also develop new church-based formation programs in close partnership with evangelical denominations such as the Evangelical Free Church (EFCC and EFCA), Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC), and the Christian and Missionary Alliance (CMA). These programs will combine formal theological education with in-church practicum experiences and mentorships, ensuring students are formed both intellectually and spiritually for the realities of ministry. In addition, the seminary will invest in upgrading its online learning infrastructure, offering both synchronous and asynchronous course options to provide greater flexibility for students balancing ministry, work, and family commitments.
  • Project Area: Degrees or accelerated programs | Church vitality and equipping lay leaders | Congregational and denominational collaborations | Diversifying students and curricula | Institutional restructuring | Student affordability and resourcing | Upskilling pastoral and ministerial leaders
  • Project Start Date: 25-Oct-01
  • Project End Date: 30-Dec-31
  • Project Amount: $1,000,000
