  • Country: United States
  • Primary Denomination: Converge Worldwide

Project Information

  • Initiative: Individual School Grant (ISG)
  • Project Title: CBTE Program at Bethel Seminary
  • Project Description: We will be developing and launching a Competency-Based Theological Education (CBTE) program in parallel to our existing offerings. Working in partnership with churches and denominations, we will develop competencies that, when mastered, will determine readiness for degree completion. We intend to deliver the Master of Divinity (MDiv) and the Master of Arts in Ministry (MAMIN) degrees, as well as certificates. We will likely utilize a three-mentor model and subscription pricing. Our hope is that we can reach students who are theologically aligned with Bethel Seminary but who haven't felt comfortable coming here. This will include churches serving ethnic minorities and immigrant communities.
  • Project Area: Business model innovation | Competency-based models | Congregational and denominational collaborations | Diversifying students and curricula | Non-degree and continuing/lifelong learning | Spiritual direction and student formation
  • Project Start Date: 25-Oct-01
  • Project End Date: 29-Dec-31
  • Project Amount: $999,773
