  • Project Description: The Leadership Initiative for Tomorrow (LIFT) program seeks to strengthen the capacities of the Hazelip School of Theology to better train the next generation of lay leaders. The LIFT program will partner with lead pastors in the critical task of educating lay leaders in order to sustain the church's work and support the continuing growth of the congregation. By creating targeted non-credit programming within congregational partnerships, Hazelip School alumni who are now leaders will be able to equip their lay leaders with the skills most needed in their particular settings. The goals of the project include: building a discovery tool that helps pastors identify the training needs of their congregations; creating a network of alumni pastors; creating a learning community of lay leaders who are connected to one another congregationally and programmatically; and improving literacy for the seminary of the ecclesial traditions now served outside of Churches of Christ.
