  • Project Description: The Town & Country Leadership Project at Phillips Theological Seminary addresses the need for strong leadership in rural and small congregations, featuring three key elements: (1) Year-long learning communities with support from mentors. Each participating congregation receives a $5,000 mini-grant for ministry-enhancing initiatives. (2) Targeted online certificates and non-degree classes addressing practical needs identified by small and rural church leaders. (3) New MDiv elective courses specifically concentrated on the context of rural and small congregations. Regional workshops provide ongoing learning and connection opportunities for alums. By focusing on the specific needs of rural and small congregations, alternative pathways to ministry, ongoing leadership development, and congregational support, the Town & Country Leadership Project strengthens these vital communities.
