• Project Title: Forming Leaders for a Synodal Church
• Project Description: St. Peter's Seminary is working to embed synodality into its formation programs over five years. Synodality, meaning "walking together," is an ancient mode of ecclesial life now being renewed across the Catholic Church. It shifts the Church from a "top-down" model of leadership to a more participatory way of being that draws on the gifts of all the faithful, lay and ordained. The project will provide a comprehensive set of tools and activities to form faculty, seminarians, and lay students in the synodal method while engaging a wider audience. These include listening sessions, conferences, retreats, online modules, a digital library, and a virtual synodal toolkit offering accessible, ongoing learning. The goal is to renew our formation programs in response to the hopes expressed in the global and local synodal processes. St. Peter's Seminary seeks to support this renewal by shaping leaders who can foster shared ministry in dioceses and communities across Canada and beyond.
