  • Project Title: Sowing for Plentiful Harvests: Multiplying Vocations Regionally in a Season of Vocational Need
  • Project Description: Saint Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Seminary will address a critical shortage of Orthodox priests by expanding both on-campus and diocesan-site seminary pathways for older, second-career men. There is a similar scarcity of priest-chaplains, particularly for military members and veterans. Traditional populations of seminarians matriculating in conventional on-campus seminary programs won't meet this serious need. Our project, designed under an ATS Pathways for Tomorrow Initiative grant, proposes four initiatives designed to address these shortages. In addition, they will result in both optimizing our on-campus seminary program at full capacity and generating new sources of program revenues, such that the project will be self-sustaining in its fifth year. Concomitantly, we have secured a substantial donor pledge to construct married student housing consistent with growth of second-career seminarians who choose our on-campus program, a key capital investment for this project.
