  • Project Title: Preparing the Way: Expanding Theological Vocational Paths for Undergraduate Students
  • Project Description: Bethany, in partnership with Earlham School of Religion and six Church of the Brethren colleges, is creating a seamless pathway from undergraduate study to ordained ministry. The initiative enables juniors and seniors to take seminary courses, earn a certificate, and apply credits toward an MDiv. By integrating college, seminary, and congregational experience, the program removes financial and structural barriers that often deter students from considering pastoral leadership. The project addresses declining church participation and reduced religion coursework by expanding access to theological education during key formative years. Students gain meaningful formation, church connections, and practical ministry preparation without additional institutional cost. Colleges strengthen academic offerings and enrollment while deepening ties to the church. Designed as a replicable model, this partnership prepares a new generation of pastors to serve the church with clarity, purpose, and support.
