• Project Description: CENTERS (Catholic Education Network To Enact & Resource Synodality) is a national collaboration led by Loyola University Chicago's Institute of Pastoral Studies in partnership with 15 other partner Catholic colleges, universities, and institutions. In the context of the global Synodality initiative, launched by Pope Francis and being implemented under Pope Leo XIV, the project strengthens the capacity of ministry formation programs to prepare pastoral leaders for a more participatory, discerning, and mission-oriented Church. Through locally designed pilot projects, regional and national convenings, shared resource development, and a year-long Synodal Fellowship for graduate ministry students, CENTERS will serve dioceses, parishes, lay and ordained ministers, and emerging pastoral leaders across the United States. Its goal is to build durable networks, form synodally grounded leaders, and create sustainable models of theological education and pastoral leadership formation for the future.
