• Project Title: Bridging the Gap between Seminary and Parish: Ongoing Formation for Seminary and Parish Mentors of Newly Ordained
• Project Description: Mount Angel Seminary (Oregon) proposes a new, large-scale national initiative to train mentors who will accompany seminarians through all stages of priestly formation culminating in the newly articulated Vocational Synthesis Stage. This stage, which begins after ordination to the transitional diaconate, marks a decisive transition into full-time pastoral ministry. This new program builds on the Seminary Formation Council's years of success in training mentors within seminary and parish environments. The new implementation will occur through a nationally coordinated model delivered in regional offerings utilizing a standardized curriculum supported by video content, digital resources, and structured practicum materials for pastors and parish teams. The collaborating seminaries include: Saint Mary Seminary (Ohio), Saint Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary (Florida), The Saint Paul Seminary (Minnesota), USML Mundelein Seminary (Illinois), and Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary (Pennsylvania).
