• Project Title: PROPEL: Rebuilding the Pastoral Leadership Pipeline for the Next Generation of Leaders
• Project Description: PROPEL's dual vision is to strengthen Canadian church network capacities to identify, recruit and prepare pastoral leaders, and establish a Competency-Based Theological Education (CBTE) Community of Practice (CoP) to develop and share resources for theological schools in North America and beyond. PROPEL's six objectives are to: expand partnership with churches in recruitment and leadership development; create a self-sustaining CBTE CoP; research a competency ontology for 21st century pastors supported by performance-based assessment tools as well as barriers to recruitment and retention of pastors in Canada, enhance ministry-integrated degree and lifelong learning programs; establish endowments for long-term stability; and refine CBTE through data-driven learning. By uniting church networks, seminaries, and researchers, PROPEL equips leaders with theological depth and practical skills for modern challenges while scaling effective, affordable theological education across North America.
